Laery and Co report for the past week as follows : — Wheat— Market quiet. A few transactions have taken place in prime milling at rates about on a par with those last reported. Prime milling old season's, 2s 6d ; medium to good, 2s 4d to 2s 5d ; new season's prime nominally, 2s 4d, f.o.b. southern ports ; whole fowl wheat, 2s 8d ex stores. Oats — In sympathj with Southern advices, the market is decidedly weaker, and values haye a downward tendency. Prime short oats, Is 7£d to Is 9d ; stout feed, Is 6d to la 7d ; Danish, Is 6d ; Duns, Is lOd. Barley — Market sluggish. Buyers appear to be confining their operations to choice lines only. Bright choice malting, 3s 9d ; medium to good, 2s 9d to 3s 3d, Maize — Best samples are worth 2e 7d to 2a 8d per bushel. Pollard— Supplies are scarce and values higher. We quote 80s to 85s per ton. Chaff— Prime bright lines meet with fair sale at unaltered rates. Prime bright heavv, new season's, 57a 6d ts 62s Bd ; medium to good, 47s 6d to 5Sa per ton : choice old season's. 65s per ton.
