At the sale of Mr D. S. Wallace's stud on March Ist, GG lots were submitted and realised £11,000. Adding this amount to the sum realised by Carbine (£13,650), a grand total of between £24,000 and £25,000 was obtained for the whole stud. The New Zealand purchasers were Major George and Mr W. Rathbone. Air Rathbone purchased Taihoa (Malua — Nornua), with a Carbine filly, for 160 guineas. Major George bought Moonga (Goldsborough — Kernel) for 270 guineas, li-stia (Grandmaster — Wildfire) for 140 guineas, ana & filly by Carbine from Hestia for 85 guinea*. Moonga and Hestia are stinted to Carbine Moonga's dam is by Angler from Cocoanut (dam of Navigator and Trident.) Hestia's dam is by Wild Oats from Dynamite, by Musket. Taihoa' s dam, Norna, is dam of the Melbourne Cup winner, Darriwell.
