ADVANCE IN WOOL.

• Tub intelligence received by cablegram from London that at Saturday's wool Rales competition was keen, prices were maintained and an advance shown in some instances, came at a raost opportune time. There is already in this district an improvement in the stock market, and the good news from , Home will have the natural effect of hardening prices, giviug a still better r tone to the market, and at the same time instilling more confidence into ' the minds of the producers. The latter have certainly for the last two seasons been hardly dealt with by fortune. Sheep which were saleable three years ago at say 14s or 15s have this season ■ been hard to quit at 5s 6d to 6s. There is a decided revival /iow, however, and although the top prices referred 5 to may never be reached again, at least in this decade, yet there is a . solid satisfaction iv knowing that the bottom prices have at length been reached and tho market is on the upward path.
