For the Consolation Ben Godfrey was the only nominee and consequently had the walk over.

Alfred Doble, of Wellington, was turned off the Wanganui race course for tote betting, being caught red handed by one of the stewards. Horseowners are reminded that acceptances for the Sandon Hack Race Meeting are due with the Secretary, Mr R. O. Edwards, this evening at 9 o'clock. At the sale of Mr D. S. Wallace's stud at Melbourne on Friday last, the agent for Mr Ratbbone, of Waipawa, purchased the Mare Taihoa (Malua— Nora), full sister to the stallion Haere, owned by Mr R. Stevens. The maro is in foal to Carbine.
