Feilding Athletic Sports.
A public meeting was held in the Feildincr Assembly Rooms last evening to consider a proposal to alter the " Feilding Sports Committee " into the " Feilding Athletic Club." Those present were — Messrs W. A Sandilands, W. A. L. Bailey, H. L. Sherwill, W. G Haybittle, G. Kirton. G. H. Saywell, H. Bas tings, B. Gosling, P. Thomson. H. H. Whisker, T. 11. James, E. H. Fisher, A. R. Allan, G. Y. Lethbridge, M. Belfit, R. Young. Mr Sandilands was voted to the chair, and explained the reasons for which the meeting had been called. Mr Bailey proposed, and Mr Gosling seconded, That the " Feilding Sports Committee " be formed into a club to be caJled the " Feilding Athletic Club." — Carried. Mr Sherwill, as secretary of the Feilding Sports Committee, read the rules as drawn up by the Sports Committee for approval. Proposed by Mr Gosling, seconded by Mr Thomson, That the rules as read be adopted as the rules of the Feilding Athletic Club —Carried. The following gentlemen were elected members : — Messrs W A. Sandilands, S. Andrew, R. Young, E. H. Fisher, M. Belfit, R. C. Templer. The meeting adjourned with a vote of thanks to the chairman.
