The Stock Market.

Messrs Abraham and Williams report : — During the week we held sales at Otaki, Foxton and Palmerston. At all places the yards were well filled with stock. Prices at the country yards were without alteration, though good clearances were effected. At Palmerston yesterday all the sheep changed hands. A happier tone prevailed inasmuch as bidding was brisk and the bulk of the stock sold under the hammer, a state of things that was not excited for a long time past. In some cases sheep advanced fully Is per head. Cattle on the other hand were in limited inquiry. We were only able to place a portion of the entry, such sales as were made being for the most part effected privately. Palmerston — Sheep : 2-tooth ewes, 6s 73 to 7s ; 4-tooth fiomney ewes, 6s 7d ; Qrtooth and t,m. do., 5.3 ; others, 3s 5d to 5s 6d ; 2-tooth wethers, 5s 9d to 6s : 2 and 4 tooth do. 6s 3d to 6a 9& ; woolly lambs, 4? : shorn Jambs, culls, Is7d .
