Supreme Court Sittings.
(Per Press Association). Dunedin, March 5. At the Supreme Court to-day the following sentences were passed: — Richard Green, 17, breaking into a store, two years hard labour ; Robert Warrington, assault, two months ; Geo Gardner and Robert Ront, stealing carpenters tools nine months and three raonthe respectively. The Court, was engaged for the rest of the day in hearing a charge of arson against Jacob Van Stein, of Kaitangata. The jury retired at 6 p.m. and have not yet returned. Wellington, March 5. In the Snpreme Court Henry Giaham, charged with extorting money from William Johnston at Wellington by threatening to accuse him of an improper act, -was acquitted. Fairburn, accused of stealing a watch in Wellington, was found not guilty and discharged.
