(Per Press Association.) I Christchuhch, March 4. The inquest on the half-caste youth, Daniel Kelly, who was shot by John \V. Otten on February 2i, was held to day. The jury returned a verdict "That deceased died from a shot accidentally casually and by misfortune fired from a gun by John William Otten." "Waxgamui, March 4. Louis Elerig was tried for attempted suicide, at the District Court to-day be« fore Judge Martin. The jury were locked up for a long time and ultimately returned a verdict of not guilty. Wellington, March 3 At a meeting of the Wairarapa Relief Committee this afternoon, the cases of Mrs McMillan, of Waikonaiti, Miss Cole, ot Grey town North, and Mrs Simpson, of Caithness, wore dealt with. A number of other claims will be considered to-mor-row. Auckland, March 4. The master bakers havo raised the price of bread to "2^d per loaf.
