The last cup match of the season be- j tween teams in the Rangitikei-Manawatu Union was played at Feilding on Satur- [ day last between teams representing ■■ the Palmerston and Carnarvon Clubs, ! neither of which put a full team in the field, the former sending eight men and the latter nine, substitutes being picked • up during the game, which was won by i Carnarvon on the first innings, there not j being sufficient time to complete the match. The result does not affect the premier honors of the Union, which were won by Colyton by their victory on the previous Saturday. The committee of the RaugitikeiManawatu Cricket Union met at the Manchester Hotel on Saturday evening. The following delegates, were present : — Messrs Izod (Marton Club), H. J. R. Roe (Birmingham), C. Bowater (Carnarvon), A. C. Carty (Feilding), J. Johnston (Colyton), and the secretary, Mr A. H. Tompkins. Mr Carty was voted to the chair. The Secretary informed the meeting that he had been in communication with the Wanganui cricketers, and had arranged a match, to be played at Feilding on the 9th instant. Resolved, That the secretary's action re the match with Wanganui be endorsed. It was decided to endeavor to arrange a trip through the Wairarapa during the Easter holidays, and Messrs Smith, Carty, and Richards were appointed a committee to ascertain by next Satur day if a Union trip could be arranged. The following team was selected to represent this Union in the match with Wanganui on Saturday next : - Wilson, Smith C Miilen, J. Johnston (Colyton), L. E. Reade, A. R. Richards (Feilding), F. Barlow, A. H. Tompkins (Birmingham), Cooke, Hodder (Palmerston), and Askew (Carnarvon).
