Exploring the Antartic.
[Per Press Association.] London, March 2. Mr Clement Robert Markham, C.8., who served in the Arctic expedition iu search for Sir John Franklyn, in 1860, in a paper to be read on Monday, will urge England and tbe Colonies to unite in exploring cbe Antartic. He considers it necessary that the Colonies should first make a survey with their own boats. Mr Markham expresses belief in the existence of a vast southern continent, and suggests that two vessels be employed under the auspices of the naval authorities.
