Wesleyan Conference.

(Per Press Association). Kelson, February 28. The General Conference ot the Wesleyan Church was opened to-day. The Rev. D. McNiccol delivered an address, in which he spoke of the good results of the year. There were 383 more members returned this year than last, and 2280 more hearers. There are now iu connection with the five annual conferences 646 ministers, 84,164 members, and 459,671 attendants. Thus in four years there has been an increase of 27 ministers, 10,795 members, and 38,996 adherents. He spoke on the subject of the Methodist Union, Superanumerated Fund, Foreign Missions, Maori Missions, Home Mission, Higher Education, Liquor Traffic, Gambling and the Future of the Church, urging that the future would be what they made it. The Rev. J. H. Summonds was elected President for the current year on a second ballot, and the Rev. J. D. Murray secretary. A resolution congratulating the Rev. H. Lawry on the Ministerial Jubilee, was carried.
