SOUTH AUSTRALIAN NEW SOUTH WALES.
(Per Press Association.) Sydney, Feb. 25. The match was resumed at an earlier hour than usual in order to finish the game as soon as possible and thus afford a short rest to the players who are to take place in the final test match, which commences in Melbourne on Friday. The home team played a splendid innings, and ran up the score of 336 before all were disposed of. When the stumps were drawn for the day, South Australia, requiring 272 to win, had lost one wicket for 52, the game being in a very interesting state. Following are the scores; — New South Wales, second innings — Moore, b Jones, 5 ; Garrett, b Giffen, 27 ; Howell, c Reedman b Giffen, 62; Iredale, c Darling b Giffen, 91; Moses, b Jones, 34 ; Donnan, c Hill, b Jones, 16 ; McKenzie, c Darling b Giffen, 7 ; McKibben, b Giffeu, 8 ; Callaway, run out, 0; Kelly, b Giffen, 4; Gregory, not out, 66 ; extras, 16. Total, 336. Giffen took six wickets for 132 Jones three for 95. South Australians, second innings- — Lyons, b McKibben, 6 ; Geo. Giffen, not out, 26 ; Darling, not out, 20. Total for one wicket, 52.
