OUTBREAK OF A NEW DISEASE. (Per Preas Association). Sydney. Ihis Day. There is a mortality amongst sheep in the southern districts from a disease which has completely puzzled experts. It attacks only the best and fattest animals, and never those which are thin and suffering from other disease. The outbreak is confined to the low-lying pastures. The Government Veterinary Surgeon who has just made an exhaustive investigation, believes the disease is due to various forms of bacilli bred in swampy, grounds and recommends strong precautions be taken to prevent its spea4»
