Damages for the Loss of a Husband.

Mrs Kilpatrick obtained a verdict of £600 damages against Huddart Parker and Co. for the loss of her husband, who 1 was drowned by the foundering of the ! steamer Alert, on which he was 2nd [ engineer. The claim was based on the contention that the steamer was un- ; seaworthy. Damages were laid at £3000.
