The fact that the only persons wbo haye come forward to give evidence before the Tariff Commission are ultra Protectionists, seeking each and everyone to have his own particular trade subsidised at the expense of the colony, has given rise to a fear that the Commission has only been appointed to collect evidence with a view to stiil further taxation. The Tariff Commission has only been appointed for the purpose of giving the (Government a pretext to levy more taxation, and this fact all should keep in mind.
