The Pacific Cable.
(PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION .I Ottawa, February 16. The Minister of Trade states that the lowest offer for the Pacific cable is from a London firm, and that the amount is £1,517,000 sterling. The route is to be from Vancouver via Fanning Island, Fiji, and Norfolk Island, with branches to New Zealand and Australia. The estimated cost is about half that calculated by the British Postal authorities.
