Lawn Tennis.
A match was played at Falmerston ot Saturday afternoon last between the Falmerston and Feilding Clubs, result ing in a win for the former. The wea thcr being a perfect day for tennis, sev eral onlookers accompanied the Feilding team, and although the visiting team suffered a defeat the visit to the Palmerston courts afforded a most enjoyable trip. Some good play was shown, especially on the Palmerston side, and the Feilding players should profit by the defeat, which proved to them that more practice, especially in the doubles, is necessary if they wish to regain theii laurels when the teams meet in the return match, which will probably be on Saturday week. Afternoon tea was provided by Mesdamcs McEnight and Guy and was much appreciated by players and spectators. Following are the scores ;-^ DOUBEES. Palmerston FeildingWebster, Cox 9 Brabant, Gieson 4 Keeling, Connell 9 [Richmond, Coote 5 Koch, Brandon 9 Dyer, Barton 8 SINGLES.
