OUR CURRENCY.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sir, — I read a letter in your paper oc Saturday, signed " Fabian," advocating the substitution of glass marbles foi sovereigns as a panacea for the unemployed. Tbe whole thing passed mj comprehension except on one point, and that was, that I think it would be as hard to earn the " marbles " as the " soys," and if the Government constructed "colossal public works" on the marble plan no doubt the storekeepers aud others would be glad. But I am afraid that many of the marbles, and storekeepers too, would be broken undei the process. Perhaps Mr Seddon or Mi Ward might be able to throw some light on this subject in connection with the State Bank. Fancy counting marbles over the counter ! ! ! I am, etc., Enquirer.
