FEILDING v. PALMEKSTON.
The Feilding and Palmerston clubs contested a Cup match on the local ground on Saturday, the result of which was an easy win for Palmerston. The team representing Feilding was a very weak one, as some of the picked men did not put in an appearance., and at the last moment substitutes bad to be obtained. Palmerston going first to the wickets put up a comparatively small score of 54, none of the players reaching double figures, the bowling of Grant and Hunter being apparently rather difficult to play. Owing to the dry weather the pitch was very hard, and consequently the balls rose considerably. In their first innings Feilding were all disposed of for 34, and following on they made an even more miserable show, as only 30 were put together. With 11 runs to get to win, Palmerston again went in, the required number being obtained without the loss of a wicket. Mrs Lethbridge was very kind in again providing afternoon tea for the players.
