The Board of Trade has ordered au iuquiry into the Elbe-Craithie collision. The Queen's Bench has ordered Mr W. O'Brien, M.P., to pay Mr Chance, solicitor, £'400, balance of the law costs in the Salisbury slander action. Some 40,000 people are starving in Birminguam in consequence of the stoppage of works by the severe weather. The municipal bodies are being asked to raise a relief fund. Messrs Wilson, Lloyd, Everett, and other members are moving in the House of Commons to initiate a world's conference to legalise silver and restore stability to the currency. The Manchester Canal cold stores are completed. Accommodation is provided for 120,000 .sheep. Coxstantixoi'li;, February 14. The city is in a state of great unrest. Murders arc of daily occurrence in the streets, and the perpetrators are allowed to go unpunished. Trade with the interior is paralysed. Beulin, February 14. Rumours are current here that grave events have taken place in Sofia. Prince Ferdinand is stated to have fled to Roumauia. The reports, however, are not coutirmed. The Reichstag has adopted a proposal brought forward by the Socialists, withdrawing the dictatorial powers held by the Governor of Alsace-Lorraine. The debates on the Elbe disaster continues in the Reichstag. Bebee, a Socialist, declared Lloyd's boats were deiicient in life saving apparatus, that the sailors were not used to boat drill, and demanded imperial control of the shipping. Herr Balittisches denied the charges, and declined to take steps for control. Puktokia, February 14. The Volksraad has parsed the Swaziland Convention. Monte Video, February 14. The Rimutaka left to-day for London, all well.
