The Cheltenham Dairy Factory.
We are indebted to the courtesy of Mr Templer, the secretary of the Cheltenham Co operative Dairy Factory, for the following information concerning a shipment of butter forwarded to London in the " Tongariro " : — A letter dated London December 27th, 1894, from the agents of the Factory, Messrs Keynolds and Co , Limited, states : — " Herewith please find account sales for 43 cases of butter. This is the only lot we have sold from this shipment. The same buyer prefers your brand to any other, hence the satisfactory price. The market has gone from bad to worse — in fact there is hardly any sale at any price, bo we have had to put nearly the whole (outside yours) in the freezer, and trust that things will be better with the new yflar Your butter is very good ! and I hope it will eontinuo the samg ! throughout the season. Finest Danish can be bought for 100s. Weather -till continues mild — partly accounting for the price." The price the Cheltenham Factory sold for was 104s and as that means the produce of our local factory is preferred to the Danish, which is a very high compliment indeed.
