Railway Returns.
_ -♦- The following are the Traffic Returns for the Napier -Taranalu section for the four weeks ending sth January, 1895, aud for the corresponding four weeks in 1 UQ,I .
There is a very uotable decrease in the number of passengers for the period in 1894 -- 82.5 S3 —and iv 189 a, 79,784. There is also a falling off in wool of 700 tons, which is met by au increase of 600 tons in merchandise. The grand total for im~> was £849,769 14s 7d and 1894 .£866,772 12s 2d. There was an increase of about £2000 in the North Island and a retrogression of about £20,000 in the South Island. _____
