Stock Markets.

Messrs Gorton and Sou held a stock sale at Waituna yesterday, when the attendance of settlers and others, including some from Colyton, Paimeraton. and Halcombe was large, being attracted by the large entries advertised. However, ou account of the wet weather this week preventing settlers from mustering their stock, only fair entries of cattle and several pens of sheep were yarded. Nearly everything sold under the hammer and little was turned out unsold, cattle realising better prices than at recent sales. The prices obtained were:—Cattle-3-year steers, £4 Is to £4 ss : milkers, j?4 13s to £5 10s; weaners, 28,s to. 22*3 ; mixed yearlings, 335 ; lS^mofl&s steeds* £2 6s; IS-rnonth.s heifers* ss.
