(Per Press Association.) Sydney, This Day. A trial shipment of a dozen brood and draught horses is being scut to London, by the Celtic King, on behalf of two well known breeders. The Government is carrying out a system of consolidation of Crown Lands by exchanging lands with pastoralists, and a considerable number of the latter are availing themselves of this chance of making their holdings compact. The Sydney Telegraph and Melbourne Age strongly condemn the Parkes school for opposition to the federation reoommepdations of the Premiers Conference. They consider it ia merely the outcome of personal feeling, especially against Mr Reid. The Herald and Argus are more guarded and seem somewhat doubtful about the wisdom of the referendum. Hobart, February 6 Arrived — lonic, at one this afternoon. She sails again at & p.m. to-morrow for Auckland. She brings 14 passengers for Australian ports and 69 for New Zealand.
