(P_B PRESS ASSOCIATION) Nelson, This Day. A petition was presented on behalf of the Rev. Gilford, protesting against the action of the Bishop of Dunedin refusing to allow petitioner to be sent to the Diocesan Synod, though he held a license, and the Standing Committee had decided in favor of his doing so. — Referred to a Select Committee. A Bill, brought in by Colonel Haulain, to apply for a Maori lay representative at the Diocesan Synod, was read a first time.. There was a long discussion on the motion of the Dean of Christchurch that Lambeth Conference be asked to bay down principles of further organisations of the several branches of Anglican Communion. A Select Committee was appointed to prepare a brief statement of financial position of the Church in each diocese, The report on the petition against the Dunedin clerical representatives, frojja the select committee, recommends that the election of Dean Fitchett and Canon Lucas by the Standing Committee ofthe Diocese, Dunedin, was invalid, and that a fresh writ should be issued.
