FIERCE STRUGGLE IN THE BUTTER MARKET. (Per Press Association). London, February 3. The Danes are selling butter at any price, being determined to oust the Australian article from the market, and are making preparations for a long struggle. The greater part of the butter by the Oroya is being stored, but some of it was sold at an average of 98s. The glut in the market is increasing. The Agent-General has been advised by cable of the following shipments of dairy produce during last month for the Home market : Per Rimutaka: Butter. Cheese. Cwt. Cwt. Auckland 440 100 Welhngton 4240 4860 Lyttelton 562 399 Dunedin 446 4781 Total 5688 10,1.0 Per Duke of Westminster: 1880cwt. butter.
