The Half-Holiday.
(Per Press Association.) Welli.ngton, January 31. 'I he total number of firms who have applied to be allowed to shut on Saturday instead of Wednesday is 68. The watchmakers have petitioned the City Council to exercise the power under the Factory Act, and change the half holiday from Saturday to Wednesday. The Council agreed to do so.
