Assault by a Sailor.
(PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION). Tjmaru, This Day. On Saturday nigbt Thomson, a seaman on the German barque Franz from Adelaide, went on board drunk. The master and the mate were ashore. The second mate, a young man named Roderick Sctmier, who was in bed, got up and told the man to go ashore. According to his account the sailor rushed him. He got a loaded revolver, and Thomson coming at him again, he fired two shots one over his head and the other at his bod}'. The bullet struck Scbnier in the stomach inflicting a wound which is expected to prove fatal, as three doctors have tried to extract the bullet and without success.
