Inspection of Catholic Schools.
(Per Press Association,) Dunedin, January 21. Sir R. Stout contends that the logical outcome of allowing Board Inspectors to inspect Catholic Schools must be State intervention to see that the teachers are efficient. Auckland, January 22. The Roman Catholic Bishops of Wellington and Danedin made application to-day to th,e Board of Education to authorise the inspection of Roman Catholic Schools in the Auckland district, un.der their respective management. After discussion the Board decided to defer consideration of the matter for a fortnight, the chief inspector to bp present at the meeting to confer jjvith tbe board..
