♦ RANGITKEI v. FEILDING.
The first inatcli engaged in by the [ Feilding Polo Club was played in Feildi ing on Saturday afternoon, in the i presence of a large number of spectators, ) and, after an interesting game, ended in ; a win for Bangitikei by 16 goals to 7, a . result the local team have^very. reason t to be pleased with. The tallowing are r the names of the players : Bangitikei , No. 1 team-H. Wilson (1), —Bill (2), K. Dalrymple (3), J. G. Wilson (back). Bangitikei No. 2 team — Keiller 1, Dali rymple (2), Arkwright (3), N. Wilson [ (back). Feilding No. 1 team— Strachan i (1), Gorton (2), Cooper (3), Giesen (back). No. 2 team - Elkiugton (1), Lance (2), Tosswill (3), Pickering (back). Play was ! commenced at 2.45 by the No. 1 teams and for the first three spells was fairly even, but in the last the superior condition of the Bangitikei ponies asserted itself and the game ended Bangitikei 14 , goals., Feilding 2 goals. Goals for the former were scored by H. Wilson 6, — Bill 5, and E. Dalrymple 3, and for, the ■ latter by Cooper and Strachan. The i play was very fast throughout, and the Feilding men will no doubt profit by the experience. The match between the No. 2 teams resulted in a win for Feilding by 5 goals to 2. Goals for the local team were obtained by Lance 2, Pickering 2, and Elkington, and by Wilson and Arkwright for Bangitikei. Afternoon tea was provided on the ground by Miss Bagnall, and was much appreciated by players and others.
