MR PIRANI'S RE-APPOINTMENT ON THE LAND BOARD.

It is a subject for general congratulation among the settlers in the Wel lington Land district, that Mr Pirani, M.H R., has been re-appointed to the Land Board. At all times and sea- , sons Mr Pirani has worked energeti cally and so far successfully in advan- • eing the best interests of persons set- ■ tied in what are known as the *' back * country blocks " Altogether we may .say, without fear of contradiction, that Mr Pirani is one of the most useful and painstaking members who have i ever had seats on the Board. It was : feared that owing to the firm stand ' Mr Pirani had taken when he differed on some puints with the Minister for [ Lands come time ago, that the Government would not reappoint him, but we are glad to know that these fears r bave proved groundless.
