RAILWAY RETURNS. « 'he following are the traffic returns for the Napier- Taranaki section for the four weeks ending Bth December, 1894, and for the corresponding four weeks, 1893: —
£16,835 2 10 £14,566 4 1 The improvement is in wool, whifb shows an advance of 1155 tons, also m firewood, timber and grain. The totals are : 1894, North Island, £269,835 18s 7d ; 1893, £266,710 *s 9d. South Island, 1894, £471,877 14s 7d ; 1893, £488,548 18s 2d. Grand total, 1894, 741,713 13s 2d ; 1893, £755,259 6s lid. It will be se^ifrom these figures that the North Island keeps the lead.
