A Dangerous Freak.
(Per Press Association.) Wellington. -I mm iry 15 A man named Richard Apps was today fined 20s and costs for applying the breaks to a passenger carriage while the train was coming down the Rimutaka summit. The Magistrate, after admonishing defendant, said it was fortunate for him that the authorities did not press for a severe penalty.
