A Colliers' Strike Averted.
(Per Press Association,) Sydney, Tins Day. Balloting in connection with the proposed strike of miners at Newcastle has been completed. The figures show that 1874 men voted in favor of a strike being declared, and 1216 against a strike. As the requisite two thirds majority was not obtained there will be no general strike. The difficulty afc the Helton colliery has been settled and the threatened strike availed.
