The Timber Industry.
- o (Per Press Association). Melbourne, January 9. The American Consul has informed the Age that American timbers are not suitable for wood paving and directs the attention to what will probably be the field for the great export industry. The Consul suggests send ing representatives with a sufficient supply of blocks to lay down an tx'jerimental section in the main street. The local authorities would probably pay for laying the blocks, which it is understood would he admitted duty free.
