Failure of Two Large Firms
I Per Press Association. | Pabis, January 8. The firm of M. M. Ponsart and Galliet of Hems, who are extensive purchasers on the London wool market have failed. The liabilities are set down at _80,000, and the assets are stated to be _65,000. Galliet, a member of the firm, has committed suicide. London. January 8 Alfred Shaw and Co-, Australian merchants, of 39, East Cheapside, have suspended. The cause is attributed to the absence of remittances from Brisbane, where the firm recently filed a petition to go into liquidation,
