Ladies and Gentlemen, — IN reply to a request from several of the ratepayers in the Makino District and other parts of the Borough of Feilding that I should allow myself to be nominated for the vacant seat in your Borough Council, I desire to state that although I had no intention of coming forward for the position, principally because my spare time is limited, I quite recognise that it is only fair that Makino should be represented at the Council Table of this Borough ; and as no one else in this vicinity seems inclined to aspire to the position, I will therefore place myself at your service, and, if you do me the j honor of electing me to the position, I will endeavour to fulfil the duties faithfully to the best of my ability, j and will seek to act in the best interests of the Borough generally.
