The Murderous Butcher.

■ ■ — o (Per Press Association). Christchurch, December 28. At the Police Court this morning C. Langdown, butcher, was committed for" trial ou a charge of discharging five shots out of a revolver at Constable Hayes, of Papanui. Accused is the same man who was shot by Wagstaff a few weeks ago in an alleged attempt to break into the latter's house. On accused was found a letter addressed to the police stating his intention to shoot his wife and children, Poffa, publican, Wagstaff and himself.
