The Approaches to India.
(Per Press Association.) London, December 20. It is proposed to evacuate Chitral, on the south slope of the Hindu Eoosh. The Times, referring to the proposal, solemnly protests against what it considers will prove a costly blunder in abandoning a point of high strategio value. If the proposal was carried into effect, the Times asserts. Russia would have easy routes from the Pamir into India, and the bait will prove too tempting for her not to take advantage of it
