The Feilding Hotel.

iQi ■ The following additions have been made to the above popular Hotel. The front elevation of the Ist floor facing Manchester square has been extended to completely cover the kitchen, and the whole of tho blocks, plates, studs, etc. of the kitchen have been renovated in order to carry tho superstructure. Access to the now rooms is granted by a new staircase brauching of! tho present private staircase. The additions consist of tho new staircase, a spacious landing, a roomy sitting room or parlor, an extension of balcony, a largo bathroom with enamelled iron bath and marble lavatory basin, aud conveniences with tho latest patent flush out aparatus. Hot and cold water service has been laid into tho baths, shower, lavatory etc., each point being provided with patent lowpressure nickel plated taps having tho words " hot " and "cold" in block lettors let into white ivory tops. The water supply is forced by the newly erected windmill, into a large cistern at an eloration of about 23 feet and from thenco it is drawn off at the different points. Tho decorations of the interior of the new rooms have beeu made a special feature, the walla and ceilings being picked out in delioately tinted sanitary distempered papers broken into panels and styles, and stencilled, and the whole of tho exterior outside work of the new and old portions of the building have also been completely renovated. Mr James was the architect, and the building, paintingj plumbing, etc., were executed by Mr R. Heald, Watson Bros, and Peter Thomson respectively.
