SANDON v. CAMPBELLTOWN.
TO THE EDITOR OP THE STAR. Sir, — I have seen the report in your paper of the 17th instant, which purports to give an account of the cricket match between Mount Stewart, Sandon, against Campbelltown. I have no doubt it has added largely to the conceit of the Campbelltown players to beat a team largely composed of boys and nonplayers, and not a Sandon representative team at all. The writer of the report omitted to state that we were playing shorthanded. lie was wrong in stating that only one wicket had fallen for the required number of runs. The only conclusion I can draw is that Campbelltown wished to blow at our expense, although after arranging two matches with them they have refused to meet us we may, on our side, infer that they are afraid of getting a beating. If the conceit that made them parties to the publication of the report is still in existence, we will gladly get a team together and play them at Mount Stewart any Saturday afternoon they think fit, provided they dont run to Birmingham or Paknerston for players, but stick to Campbelltown men only. I am, etc., M. Kew, Mount Stewart, December 20th, 1891.
