.*. Messrs Abraham and Williams report : — During the week we have held sales at Awahuri, Colyton Shannon, and Palmerston. At the former moderate supplies only came forward. Bidding was dull and business limited Colyton —Sheep in fair snpply, were slow of sale under the hamcuar, but ultimately a clearance was effected. The entry at Shannon was sin all, but the quality was such as to es tablish a ready sale in almost every instance at rates fully equal to larger and more established centres. Yesterday, at Palmerston, cattle were far in bxcgbs of advertised numbers. Buyers were rather critical in their choice, so that only the best quality pens found purchasers . Luckily the greater portion was of this nature, so that the proportion left f r pri» vate treaty was limited, the bulk of which was disposed of at a reduction in price upon original figures Beef was dull and no sales effected. As to sheep there was fully an average muster. Prices remain firm at quotations, with no indications of an immediate rise. Awahuri 8 year bullocks. L 4 15s ; fat cows, L4to L 4 15s ; weanera, 225. Cull hoggets shorn, ss. Colyton— Yearling steers, 34s to 44s ; 18mons do, L 2 10s. 2 tooth wethers, 7s 7d ; others 7s ; mixed do, 5s 7d to 6s 6d in wool, 9s ; ewes, do, 9s lOd. Shannon— Yearling steers 46s : 18nion8, do L 2 lCs : 2Jvr steers, L 3 14s; 2 tooth sheep, mixed sexes, 6s to 6s 3d. Palmeraton— 3-yr steers, good qnaliiv, L 4 18a ; 2£ do, L4ls6d to L 4 12s ; others L 3 7s 6d to L 3 18s ; ISmons. heifers pure bred, L 2 17s 6d ; yearlings to 18inons. steers, L 2 14s 6d ; weaners 35s ; indifferent, 20s to 22s 6d ; medium 27s 6d ; milch cows up to Lsss ; heifers, spring ing, L 3 15s to L 5. Shorn 2-tooth, mixed sexes 5s 6d to 7s -id : 2 tooth wethers 7s 4d ; prime fat ewes, 7s ; others, 4s to 5s 9d.
