Education Board Executive.
A meeting of the Executive Comtnitteo of the Education Board was beld yesterday afternoon. Present - Messrs Notmau (chairman), Bridge, Baker ami Carhou. It was resolved to waive the claim against teachers who failed to make the requisite attendances at special classes of tho school of Design during the second term of the yoar. It was decidod to hold I tho Executive Committee meetings in tho evening iv future, and unless specially ordered otherwise the day of meeting to bo the second Monday after the Board meeting. The demand for painting of school buildiugs aud residences was considered, and a lisjfc made up to be submitted at tho next Board meeting. Tho architect was instructed to call for tenders for improving the Feilding School ventilation. It was resolved that the name of tho school district in tho Sandon Small Farm Block be Wairuru, aud that tho necessary steps bo takeu for the establishment of a school ; also that tho settlors be requested to advortiso for a toacher. Au application from the Awahou Coinmittoe for tho appointment of Miss Byruo as a teaohur to thoir aided school was referred to the Inspector, to whom Miss Byrne's certificates of competency are to be sent. Resolved that Miss Curtis, of the Aramoho school, be informed that the Pukiore School is read)' for opening after the holidays, aud that if sho is willing to accept tho position she will bo recommended to the Committee. The architect was instructed tv report as to tho best uieaus of increasing accommodatfou at tho Board's office. — Chronicle.
