Volunteer Items.
The Pemberton Rifle Club held the second competition for Mr Marshall's Cup on Saturday when the fo lowing scores were made : —
Colonel Fox is reported to have given it as his opinion that the volunteer companies in the districts oi Manawatu, Rangitikci, Wangamu, and New Plymouth are amongst the best drilled in the colony The fact reflects great credit on the officers in charge aud the capable drill instructor, Sergt-Mnjor McMillan.
