(PEE PRKSS ASSOCIATION.} Melboubne, This Day. Mr J. M. Pratt, an honorary member of the Cabinet, has resigned out of sympathy with Sir F. T. Sargood. The Hon. H. Guthbert, Solicitor-Geu-eral, succeeds Sir F. T. Sargood as Leader of the Legislative Council. The Hon. W. P. Reeves addressed a meeting at the Trades' Hall, and declared that the recent labor legislation in New Zealand had proved decidedly beneficial. Sydney, December 17. The Government are considering whether they will follow Victoria's example and give notice in connection with the cable guarantee fund. If the latter colony is determined to back out, New South Wales will probably do so too.
