The Feilding Star, Oroua & Kiwitea Counties Gazette. Published Daily. SATURDAY, DEC. 15, 1894. THE COLONIAL BANK.

At a special meeting of the shareholders of the Colonial Bank of New Zealand held in Dunodin yesterday resolutions were carried to amend the deed of settlement to bring it into accordance with recent banking legislation in the direction of empowering the Directors to exercise full control in the matter of the transfer of the shares of the Bank. The chairman, the Hon. Qeorge McLean, informed the meeting that the Directors did not consider it necessary to make a call on the shareholders as the capital and resources of the Bank were ample for all its requirements. From this it may be gathered that the affairs of the Bank are in a satisfactory as well as in a prosperous condition, which happy state is the result of the good management which has characterised the operations of the institution since its inoeption. At the regular halfyearly meeting we anticipate that the usual substantial dividend will be declared.
