An Interesting Case.
(Per Press Association) Wellington, December 14. The Chief Justice was occupied to-day with the case of Sir Norman ( 'ampbell and others v. Sclauders and Co. The circumstances of the case were that the plaintiffs as trustees under the marriage settlement of Mrs Dillon, daughter of Sir David Munro, placed certain inonovs in the hands of Messrs Sclanders, who in turn placed them in the hands of Mr Mellidh, solicitor, of Palmerston North. Meliish misappropriated £280, and for the recovery of this sum the plaintiff sues the question at issue being as to whether defendants are liable to make good the loss, Mr James Sclanders, one of the de fendants, is also one of the trustees, and he claims that it should it be decided that he is liable on the grounds of careless investment, then Mr C. J. Mouro, one of the plaintiffs, is equally liable. Judgmeut was reserved.
