Death of the Premier of Canada.
LATER PARTICULARS. (Per Press Association.) London, December 13. Sir J. S. D. Thompson was suddenh Beized with illness while at luncheon a Windsor Castle. Brandy was admims tered, and the stimulant caused him t< revive, but the improvement was onl] temporary, for lie soon afterwards fel back and expired suddenly. It is though the cause of death was heart disease The Queen has not been informed of hi! death. An inquest will be held at Wind sor Castle. December 13. The medical men in attendance hav< certified that Sir J. S. D. Thompson* death was the result of syncope, and nc inquest is therefore necessary. The Queen was greatly grieved or hearing of his sad death. Ottawa, December 18. The news of Sir J. S. D. Thompson* death caused a profound sensation throughout Canada.
