The Premier in Auckland.

I Per Press Association.] Auckland, Dec 18. At a conference between the Central Council of the labor-political organisations and the Premier, a request was made that fresh co-operative works should bo opened in this district. The Premier guardedly replied, and said he would carry out such co-operative works as were expedient. An alteration of the Education Aot, to allow all women possessing the parliamentary franchise to vote at elections of school committees, was asked for. Tho Premier replied that ho was agreeable to this, but if they began tinkering with the Education Act, a flood of amendments might be brought in. That was tho danger in disturbing the Act. A vote of thanks was given to the Premier, and a vote of confidence passed in the present Government.
