Lord Rosebery and the House of Lords.

THE ABSOLUTE VETO TO CEASE. [per press association.! London, December 12 Lord Rosebery, speaking at Devonport, said the Government would proceed with the work of the session in spite of the attitude of the House of Lords. The issue at the next general election would bo simply whether the people were to be governed by the House of Lords or by themselves. He disclaimed any idea of reforming the Upper House, and said that the absolute veto possessed by that Chamber must cease.
